Here's a rather shocking quote from a Tea Party attendee at a rally today (March 27, 2010):
"We're Republican by registration, but I'd even vote for a communist right now if they would start to change the way we're running the country. We need to get our Constitution back."

Did this guy even realize the hypocrisy of his statement?
Scary.
When reading articles about these people, I often remember much of the information contained in The Authoritarians. I also believe it explains their violent behavior this past week over HCR.
Thank you for your book and your research Mr. Altemeyer. It has helped me keep my sanity when trying to understand the bad behavior of many of these people this past year.

This website has been active for over two years, but recently the "Comments" feature stopped working. None of the comments made for the past couple of months were posted. I made many attempts in many ways to contact the outfit that was providing the service (TheGuestbook.com), but they never responded. So we have switched to this new system.
